It is said Migratory birds from Siberia, and other colder regions, migrate to this lake to spend their winters here.In the deeper parts of the lake, large quantities of the weed called siwar are grown.

Location	About 17 km from Ballia bus stand, on the road leading to Maniar & 1 km from Maniar, total distance 18 km from Ballia city, 159 km from Varanasi, in district Ballia, U.P., India

फ़रहर डेगर गर , चल चले के सरसर ।
मेला ददरी जायेके , गंगाजी नहायेके ,
मुंह हाथ धोई के पानी मे समाये के ,
देहि करी थरथर ,
... धोती करी फ़रफ़र , चल चले के सर सर ।
बैल जाई बेचे के , लीटी परी सेंके के ,
सातू खा के गप - गप , मुरई चबाये के ,
मुरई करी कर कर ,
लोर गिरी भर भर , चल चले के सर सर
मुंह ला के बानर के , लोग के डेरावे के ,
चरखी ले हाथ मे , ठाट से उड़ावे के ,
चरखी करे चर चर ,
धक्का देके दर दर , चल चले के सर सर ।
सरकस होई खेला , लागल रही मेला ,
टाटी फ़ार के घूसे के , चलत रही ढेला ,
ढेला गिरी भर भर ।
कही केहू धर धर , भाग चले के सर सर ।
